Dr. John A. Caras, M.D.

Dr. Caras graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in biology and chemistry which reflected his deep interest in science from childhood.  He obtained his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and did his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

After his internship he joined the U.S. Navy and served for three years as a Naval Flight Surgeon.  His tours of duty included Keflavic, Iceland, and aborad the Aircraft Carrier independence in the Mediterranian.  After his naval service, he resumed and completed advanced medical training with a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in clinical Endocrinology at Indiana University School of Medicine.

He practiced in Indianapolis for a short period and then moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where he has been for over 30 years.  While in Wichita Falls he joined the Navy Reserve and served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring at the rank of Captain
